  • I use it with DRAGON, and it works perfectly. I am running this DNS version 11 & the headset on XP Pro, no problems.

  • My initial impression is that this is a fairly well made headset with good sound and a solid microphone.

Build quality: 7/10 - metal with soft plastic and dense foam. Controller buttons feel good and the thicker cord is protected at every entry point with a thick red plastic to prevent breaks.

Comfort: 6/10 - the dense foam feels tight on my ear no matter how much I expand the headband and it feels warm after only a few minutes of wear. My hat size is medium, for those who wear large hats, I'd say this set is not for you. The benefit of the dense foam is that should be a lot more durable. We'll see.

Sound: 8/10 - very good performance considering the price point. Plantronics knows how to calibrate their speakers and mics for human voices. The people I called said my voice sounded clearer than ever.

I work from home most of the time which means I'm on the phone quite a bit. My previous headset was a Microsoft LX-4000 and this feels like a nice upgrade even though it's at a similar price point.

  • I was SO in love with this headset, the sound was AMAZING (for one ear), the mic picked up ZERO background noise (that I could tell), & the button controls are very convenient... BUT the cable started shorting out within TWO days. I work online, taking customer support calls for 6-12 hours a day & I can't have a headset randomly stop working in the middle of a call.
Edit: Added another star due to Amazon's speedy customer service & free replacement! All I had to do was ask & they sent another pair OVERNIGHT that seems to be working great (so far). Fingers crossed!

  • Having been pleased with several previous Plantrontics devices, I thought I would like another for traveling. The audio quality is excellent, setup quick and automatic on Windows 10, and the 3.5 mm analog jack a plus. It's even made narrow enough to easily insert with phone cases on. Nice! But be aware...

The 3.5 mm analog jack will not work with all devices due to the wiring standard it uses. It won't work with many android phones including those from Google but will with iPhones and other Apple products.

  • This is a great headset, and works well with RingCentral which is what the company I work for uses. It's comfortable on your head, although it does take a few days of use to stretch out. The sound quality is nice and the buttons on the wire are easy to use. A+!

  • The Plantronics Blackwire headset is comfy and lightweight, perfect for all day use. Sound clarity is excellent. We bought these headsets to use with soft phones, and our guys were used to the Plantronics Supra headsets. Build quality is similar to the Supra, but there are some features that this headset is lacking. The business headsets require a sound canceling amplifier that this headset does not. Because of this, the Blackwire headsets do not cancel out background noise as well as the Supra headsets. Also, it is very easy for others to hear what you are hearing. My coworker is often telling me to turn down my volume because he can hear what I am listening to, even though what I am listening to is not very loud.

    Pros:
    Lightweight, comfortable
Plug and play, no drivers required
    Good microphone, some sound canceling

    Cons:
    Weak sound canceling
Others can hear what you are hearing, low exterior sound dampening

Overall, it's a good headset, but not right for the crowded environment in which we work.

  • I ordered these to use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking so I can dictate books. I'm a freelance writer, and in order to save my hands I needed software (Including this mic headset) to get the best accuracy possible.
    They arrived on time.
    They are comfortable and sturdy
The sound in the headphone is decent (I have used it to Skype).
The only thing I don't really care for is the volume adjuster (I knew it was there when I ordered), so it isn't a big deal.
So far the mic seems to work well, I've dictated a few things and the sound of my voice was accurate for the software.

  • I use this with Dragon Professional 13.0. It works perfectly; sometimes I have a noisy fan running and it blocks out the sound completely.
My only gripe is the little control box built into the cord. When I stand up while dictating, it sometimes catches on the edge of the desk.
